Kriemler
Through the changing times – our story
Whoever enters Kriemler enters a place where beauty, quality and personal consultation have come together for almost a century. It is a story that began in St. Moritz, at Via Maistra 7, only a few steps from the legendary Café Hanselmann, in a place where guests from all over the world would stroll by, where elegance was part of everyday life and where a sense for the exceptional could always be felt.
1929 to 1952
In 1929, Rosa Müller Ehrensberger opened her broderie and sports shop in St. Moritz. It was a time of new beginnings, as only one year earlier the village had hosted the Olympic Winter Games, personalities from around the world travelled to the Engadin and along Via Maistra international guests, royalty and prominent figures of the time crossed paths.
In the midst of this remarkable setting, Rosa Müller Ehrensberger created a place for fine lingerie, sportswear and carefully selected pieces of exceptional quality. For a woman to open her own business at that time was anything but ordinary, which made the standard by which she led her company all the more remarkable, only the most beautiful, only the finest, for customers from all over the world.
As early as 1931, she welcomed Hanro of Switzerland into her assortment. The brand from Liestal stood then, as it does today, for the finest natural fibres, Swiss precision and a quiet, timeless understanding of luxury. From this early decision grew a partnership that continues to this day and has become part of the Kriemler story.
1953 to 1999
With Ernst and Rosmarie Kriemler Müller, the business passed into the next generation. They carried forward what Rosa Müller Ehrensberger had created, preserving the soul of the house while giving it a new character. The renovation in 1954 brought fresh energy into the rooms, the assortment was expanded with great care and brands such as Hanro, Calida, Palmers, Wolford and ISA were brought together under one roof.
What remained was the standard that had defined the business from the very beginning. Fine materials, selected brands, personal consultation and a sense for what people do not only wear, but truly love to wear. Kriemler became a place where one did not simply shop, but felt advised, understood and in good hands.
Since 2000
Since the year 2000, Thomas and Catrina Kriemler Joos have been leading the business in its third generation. The former broderie and sports shop became Kriemler - fine things to wear, the name changed, yet the attitude remained.
To this day, Kriemler stands for beautiful lingerie, high quality materials and personal consultation, for a trained eye, for time, for attention and for that special feeling of finding exactly the right piece. In a world where so much is becoming faster and more impersonal, Kriemler consciously remains different, a place where one is truly seen, a place where consultation still has meaning, a place where quality does not need to be explained, because it can be felt.
Whoever enters Kriemler does not simply enter a shop, they enter a family story.
