Chalandamarz in the Engadin

This picture captures that exact moment when winter is not quite ready to leave, while spring is already gently knocking. The trees are still wearing snow, the lake lies quietly below and somewhere in the distance, Chalandamarz can be heard through the village streets. In the Engadin, spring does not simply arrive, it is rung awake, with children’s voices, bells and a smile on its face. That same feeling is slowly finding its way to us too, brighter, lighter and full of anticipation for everything that is to come. The new collections are already waiting to be brought out of hibernation, fine, fresh and ready for the first rays of sunshine. And while our dog Hanni is probably still following the scent of one last snowflake, we know that spring is on its way. Chalandamarz has already called it.
